Clark leaned close to Chloe, his nose almost in her hair. Chloe restrained herself from reacting. She pointed to the article, "You see, it...."

"Um," Clark leaned in a bit closer.

Edging away a bit, Chloe looked at Clark. "You're not even paying attention!"

Clark's eyes popped open and he blushed. "I'm sorry! It's just that... well, you smell like candy."

"Candy?" Chloe thought for a moment. "Oh, that's my shampoo - peppermint."

"Peppermint shampoo?"

"And shower gel. It wakes me up in the morning." And apparently had other benefits as well. Chloe would definitely have to keep using it.

"Pete, your house looks like a peppermint candycane," Chloe said in disbelief. After they hung all the houselights and turned them on, it really did.

Clark started cracking up. "I told you it was going to!" he said to Pete.

Pete waved his hands at them. "Red and white strands were the only LEDs left in the store! Don't tell Mom I put off shopping for them. She thinks I did it on purpose."

"Actually, it's kindof cool," Chloe said as she watched the house. "Certainly different."

"And different is good," Clark agreed.

The three of them were in agreement.

Those were fun. I'm impressed with Chloe's self-control. I might have turned around and mauled Clark if He was nosing around in my hair and sniffing me. I might have also spontaneously combusted.

I'm very amused by your notes for all of these drabbles. It's neat to see where the ideas come from.

Clark sniffing Chloe's hair? Is a very cute mental image. The blush! Chloe wisely taking advantage of the situation! Cute!

And Pete's house? Your house? That's awesome. If you're going to decorate, then own it, man. Be proud. ^__^ And stripey.

I'll have to take a picture of it sometime. They had all these white strands. And red strands. And multi-colored strands. And... um, yeah. ^^

These were both very cute - I love young Chlark, and love the idea of the candy cane house. It's actually a very common combination in Canada given the colours of our flag.

Thanks! :) I can just see Clark's pov "what is that?" leaning in closer, closer... Oh yeah. ;D The lights make a nice change of pace from the usual multi-colors, and hey, cute. ^^

1. Peppermint is so envigorating :) I've often wondered if Clark has super smell too? I bet a scent like that would be very distracting on the right person.


2. I love Clark-Chloe-Pete fic; their friendship is so sweet and Christmas is a perfect time to indulge it. I can just picture this scene. Really, really cute.

I love mints - combine a good mint and lavender for refreshment and relaxation and you're set! Hee, on the other hand, when Clark gets to college, super smell might not be such a wonderful thing to have! That's an ability one needs to be able to turn off and on. ^^

Thanks! ^^ The show needed to do more with Pete - they were good with him in s1 but he rather quickly just became a side character. The three of them together really made a good friendship and team.
