This was a pretty busy year for me in RL, and the stories suffered for it. There were less this year than before. (There was, however, a decided uptake in the porn this year, lol.) I hope to remedy that in 2012. In the meantime, here's the annual writing survey to see what you thought of 2011's fics, and what I should do in 2012. :)

[Poll #1809526]
Total word count:
Finished and posted: 87,714 (I was aiming for a minimum of 150k this year and hoping for 200k... o.o) in 24 stories
Unfinished: 28,088 (not counting the epic thing that's still hanging out there from a couple years back)
Types:
One-Shot: 18 (including the 'location' stories)
Sequels/Series/TimeStamps: 6
For:
Challenge: 12
Self: 11
Request/Auction: 1 (2 owed o.o)
High Points of the Year:
What I did write, I enjoyed writing. Clex is, luckily, still a good inspiration for stories, and I really like the people in the fandom here. A very nice group of people and I very much enjoy writing for them and sharing my stories with them. :)
And goodness gracious, I wrote a lot of porn this year. LOL. Didn't realize that until I looked at the summary...
Low Points:
Not as much writing as I wanted! It was very hard this year to find time for writing, what with everything else. I went into over-drive for NaNo and completed it... at the expense of my poor fish who had no water changes the whole month. -_- I need to find a better balance in there somewhere.
I also need to be better at posting the challenges for CLFF and Old School. o.o My bad.
My favorite fic(s) this year:
Um... actually, I think I liked A Gift of Happiness best. Sweet and sappy and a good direction for the boys. It was also a lot of fun trying to match it to
danceswithgary's puppies. ^^
My least favorite fic(s) this year:
None that were really that unloved. I was pushing it on some of the valentine's day ones, but that's normal for comment fics.
Most successful fic:
The Conner series continues to be the most popular set, no matter the individual story. It still baffles me, in all honesty, but I don't mind writing them. :)
Most fun fic:
Take What You Want. Well, fun for me. ;D Hot dirty porn... Though Tentacles All Around was also fun to write. :)
Most poignant fic:
Both Breaking Smallville and The Problem With Knots were angsty ones for me, though I worked them into happier endings. And of course the last part of Left Alone had me crying while writing it.
Hardest fic to write:
Just getting to *write* was the hard part this year. ;p Um, none of them were particularly more difficult than others, though I will admit to Left Alone taking a LOT bloody longer than it should have. Probably because it needed all that middle stuff with Conner exploring Smallville and such before I could get to the angsty ending. It made it a little long at times, working through the needed sections when my mind was focused on the other parts.
Bunnies that are jumping out of the pen:
OMG, the bunnies. I've got bunnies EVERYWHERE, and most of them are all mentally written already, they just need to be WRITEN. The wing-fic, the cat-fic, the next Hot Boy story, the next Possession story, the next Location story (is it coincidence those three are porn?), finish my ultra-silly crack fic "Blowing Bubbles"... :)
The things I've learned this year:
Yay, porn. ^^ And... the more porn I write, the less vanilla it gets. ;p Kink never was so appealing after one writes vanilla a hundred thousand ways.
I think I should, though, go back to doing some of those bingo and other challenges. I did too many of them in 2010 and wanted to get back to "my" stories, but that didn't work out quite so well for this year. I think I need more deadlines in my life in addition to other stories. Though I really should finish the ones I've committed to first. ^^;;; Catch-22.
For 2012:
Do all the 2011 resolutions still. ;p
WRITE MORE! Find the time. Try a daily writing count thing (and not at work ;p)
Finish the auction fics. ^^;;;
Alternate the longer stories with shorter ones. Keep the fic alive!

Date: 2012-01-10 04:59 am (UTC)As to your stories - I love porn (no, really! I do!) so several of those stand out in my mind - Caught and Not the Way in particular, but also Take What You Want and Tentacles All Around. The one that really blew me away, though, was The Problem with Knots. So well done. Beautiful imagery and so unique and you kept the metaphor going so well.
I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with for 2012. Also, Yay for kinky porn (I mentioned I liked porn, right?). *g*

Date: 2012-01-13 08:50 pm (UTC)Last year, I switched my Clexmas Holiday stories over to the year after since they are revealed usually in the new year, so I just now to with last year's instead of this year's. ^^ Hard to remember that far back, sometimes.
{snicker} This has definitely been the year for porn! Don't know how that happened, really. :) I need to do the next several that are running around in the bunnies too. Tentacles was fun - I've also got my next one for your community already planned out too! ^^
The Problem With Knots was one of those stories that I basically have to put myself into a whole other mindset while writing it. It really needs that different level with the imagery and writing. It happens about every tenth story or so - it's rather exhausting yet satisfying to write that way. Glad to hear that this one succeeded so well. :) Thank you!

Date: 2012-01-15 03:47 am (UTC)Yay for a tentacle fest story! That's great to know you've already got an idea. I'll look forward to reading it.
As to the Knots story, I think its great that you can write stories in such different styles. Very impressive, as well as hard to do. It certainly speaks to your talent as a writer.
Okay, on to pimp Clexmas.

Date: 2012-01-13 08:57 pm (UTC)Hee, yeah, the Conner series is a given at this point. I'm actually trying to plan out the next one right now - I think I have to give them a break and make the next one non-angsty. A little too much of that before they go on!
I ended up calling the His series "the Possession series". ;D Haven't changed it on the LJ yet. I thought it kindof applied well. Yeah, there are... two. Probably two, more stories in that series I need to do and then it'll be done. Though I'm half-way considering wrapping in another kink plot into a third story, but I suspect that one will be better off as a one-shot.
Thank you! :)

Date: 2012-01-15 01:37 am (UTC)Ooh, that is a perfect name for it and definitely applies. And yay! for possibly two more stories in the series. Can't wait to see what you come up with for Clark's point to Lex.
And I can't wait to see what you come up with in the Connor series :D.
