Awww... The idea of Lex fitting his life around Clark, pretty much no matter what, makes me incredibly happy. {blushes} Thank you! ^___^ All relationships are compromises in some ways, and with Clark as Superman... poor Lex does get a bit of the short end of the stick there. But Lex will fit Clark in, because he loves Clark so and always will. :)
{snickers madly} If you say the story with the other version of shooting you were thinking of was Heroes and Promises (http://community.livejournal.com/clexmas/14926.html), I'm not going to know whether to be flattered or not. ("Hey!") ;D LOL! No, yeah, I did recognize that I repeated that element from that fic, but I really liked the idea and H+P was just a silly fun thing anyhow so I decided to do in this story too. This time the shooting was a bit more wrapped fully into the story. I mentioned to Tas above that the tray at the door is going to fill up with bullets in the future. ^^
This Lex is really my hero too. :) I quite like him. I'm actually planning to go back and edit some bits of Veil before I post it up on AO3 because I'd made a lot of last-minute edits before posting originally... and now I've changed my mind about most of them. ;p Ah well, will do that eventually. Other stories to write first!
Beyond the shooting, I also had a line in here that sounded really familiar, and I realized it was a phrase I'd used way back in 1998 or so in my Ranma stories. ;p (My friend Ronda assured me it was okay to reuse here, lol.) And I was channeling Tas a bit while writing - used 'alpha' at one point and firmly told myself to change that because that was Tas' style, not mine! {cough} Why I try not to read too much fic while actually writing stories. ~..^
Kissing is about the love, whether the sex is there or not. I like being able to bring that out sometimes, and the schmoopy prompt gave just the opportunity.
