"The show doesn't hold to it's own canon from episode to episode, so no reason we should accept all of it either. ^^ I'll just pick out the parts I like, and that's not one of them."

Oh, I totally get this, and sympathize, and I do it myself when I write my stories. In fact, I think most SV fans write their own versions in their heads. :-)))

The problems I see with this -- and here I'm being hypocritical -- are 1) Where do you stop? 2) Do viewers become so convinced of the truth of their own versions that they believe those versions were actually broadcast, and think that other fans are nuts or something when they raise the ugly spectre of what was broadcast.

If we ignore the broadcast version of the show, where Clark got all buddy-buddy with Lionel, can we then ignore the episode where Lex killed Lionel? I would agree with that, but how many Clark fans would?

I get into friendly arguments with Clark fans all the time, who have completely forgotten many of the things Clark did to hurt Lex, but who remember everything Lex did to hurt Clark. Everyone has their own version of the show, it seems, so it gets confusing. :-)))
