I never did figure out what the show writers were about with that plot line - it was... a little ridiculous to think any viewer would believe that, let alone somebody actually do it. I can't actually accept that as canon in the storyline because it's so absurd. Clark, I hold blameless for that one - it's all on the writers. ;p The show doesn't hold to it's own canon from episode to episode, so no reason we should accept all of it either. ^^ I'll just pick out the parts I like, and that's not one of them.
