Oooooh...my...GOD! Yes!! This is what should have happened...and would have if the writers knew what in the hell they were doing, or hadn't been given orders to write Clark as a wuss until he was in his 20s.
I loved it all - poor, woobie!Lex. He was seriously woobieish here. I don't know how Clark held off from confessiong for so long.
I loved that Clark was angry about the room still, and Lex seemed less certain of what it was about, and you put in the bit about missing his keys (cool).
You improved on canon so much here, not just around the main storyline either - the bit about Clark waiting for Lex in Metropolis for example.
Lex's speech about all the reasons he has to not question his insanity - god, that was beautiful. So much yes for that.
